HOVIA YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
Through Hovia, a platform has been created to impact young lives, by developing youth into self-sustainable productive citizens, by providing personal and career development opportunities, as well as skills development training to enhance their skills and enable them to become qualified in various occupational trades.
Our vision is to foster and ensure equal access to education and the job market. Our mission is to promote youth excellence, achievement, employability, and preparation for national competitiveness.
BENEFITS OF HOVIA-YEP
We equip the youth with our custom designed short learning courses that pay particular attention to immediate and adequate skills learning for the job market, for professional development and employability. We focus on both Technical and Soft Skills.
Our goal is to foster an entrepreneurial culture and mind-set among our youth, by helping them in developing entrepreneurial abilities. We aim to facilitate aspiring entrepreneurs overcome the challenges they face in staring-up and running their businesses.
Our Internship Program aims to assist final year university / college students to enhance their skills and develop their potential in preparation for the job market, by providing practical on-the-job training and job attachments opportunities, under the expertise that Hovia holds. Interns will be given a minimum of 3 – 6 months’ duration with an opportunity for extension. During the period of internship certain areas will be developed through Hovia’s projects.
Through Hovia Talent Pool (HTP) we acquire knowledge, skills, and abilities, and develop through training. We source talent, assess skills and qualifications, manage candidate strengths, match the right skills sets and on-board / place the right candidates in the right positions. The goal of our candidate referral system is to make inbound referrals of more sustainable and more reliable source of candidates to employers, hence, facilitating the recruitment while tackling unemployment in Namibia.
Hovia offers accredited TVET training programs. The programs are closely aligned with the labour market, which equitably provides the skills needed for accelerated development and the competencies needed by youth for productive work and increased standards of living.
